Jennifer Johnson and Nedra Young, of Palm Springs, California, are the founders of Social Mosaics. Both are professional mosaic and ceramic artists with a long history of outreach to their community. Social Mosaics, as a non-profit, was formed to extend the reach of their art work and teaching to communities and populations not served by existing fine arts programs. Their goals are to add beauty to the environment in a sustainable manner, teach practical skills, and assist in developing an artistic identity in their clients. The founders strongly believe that these attributes can do much to enhance the quality of life in the community.
